Hi, I’m Miss Michelle, certified ISR instructor and owner of ISR of Central PA. I’m also a wife, mom of two, former Spanish teacher, and health and wellness advocate.  

When my son was a newborn, I began to learn about water safety from a friend of mine, who is an ISR instructor in VA. I had no idea that drowning was such a serious issue, and like every mom, I wanted to do everything to keep him safe. We started Mommy + Me swim lessons before he could even roll over. But even after 16 months of lessons, he still had NO independent skills.  

Around this time, another instructor began teaching in Hershey! I immediately enrolled my son in lessons at 17 months, and very early every morning, made that drive each day from Lancaster. There were weeks of tears that pulled at my mama heart strings, but he was learning how to swim and float without the use of floatation, and finished in 6 weeks with independent self-rescue skills. There really was no better feeling than watching him do that!  

After my ISR experience as a mom, I knew that Lancaster County needed these self-rescue swim lessons, another layer of protection in and around the water, for ALL of our families! I have loved educating our community about water safety and drowning prevention, and it is incredible to watch every single child become an aquatic problem solver. I look forward to teaching your child and working together to ensure that “not one more child drowns.”
